Laurel Kornfeld has been an actress since early childhood. She started out in local and community theater, with most of her performances being in musicals. In the 1990s, she became a "scream queen," acting in numerous horror films, which she continues to do to this day. A New Jersey native, Laurel attended Rutgers and Harvard Universities. She is also a writer and a progressive political activist and is currently (2011) pursuing a Masters in astronomy at Swinburne University. A fearsome advocate for Pluto's planet status, she has leveraged her advocacy for Pluto into a trademark, earning the nickname "Plutogirl," with an ongoing gag of trying to get mention of Pluto into as many of her films as possible. In "Mary Horror," she does this as a mental patient who states emphatically, "Pluto IS a planet." A youthful, free-spirited redhead, Laurel is quirky, offbeat, comedic, outspoken, and in her own words, "an eternal hippie." She is working on a book "The Little Planet That Would Not Die: Pluto's Story." - IMDb Mini Biography By: Raven Lowell
