Ayesha Harris can next be seen in the upcoming Amazon Prime miniseries "Daisy Jones and the Six," opposite Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, and Suki Waterhouse. Adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid's wildly popular historical fiction novel of the same name, the series follows the rise and fall of a fictional LA rock band in the 1970s - in the guise of Fleetwood Mac - while exploring the reason behind their split at the height of their success. Harris shines as Bernie, the love interest of Simone Jackson (Nabiyah Be). "Daisy Jones and the Six" will premiere on March 3, 2023. Next, Harris will star in the Netflix drama series "Glamorous," alongside Kim Cattrall. "Glamorous" tells the story of Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a gender-nonconforming queer young man whose life seems to be stuck in place until he lands a job working for legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison. Harris is a standout as Britt, a graphic designer who finds her long-time crush on a colleague requited when they match by surprise, sparking a relationship that gets serious in more ways than one. "Glamorous" is set to debut in 2023. Harris made her feature film debut in "Tell It Like a Woman" (Samuel Goldwyn Films, 2022) which was comprised of seven segments, each helmed by a female director from different parts of the world. Harris starred opposite Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson in her storyline and was directed by Taraji P. Henson. Born and raised in the Long Beach and Inland Empire areas of southern California, Harris lived many lives before pursuing a career in acting full time. A successful entrepreneur, she owned and operated a thriving barber shop in West Hollywood for six years. As a queer and Black owned barber shop, Harris employed the best of the best female barbers in town. In 2019 the shop was destroyed in a freak accident and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, she decided to give acting a real shot. Watching the nuances of people in and out of her barber chairs for years had left a lasting impression on her, and one that she would use to spark her acting career. She was even discovered by her now manager, who saw an innate talent while she was cutting his hair. Harris got her first big breaks in 2021 and 2022, landing roles on critically acclaimed and award winning series including "This Is Us" and "Abbott Elementary." She also appeared on "Good Girls" and "The L Word: Generation Q" building her resume and forging her path in the entertainment business. When she isn't on set, you can find Harris cheering on the Lakers, cooking, and reading. She is passionate about empowering women and the queer community, especially the Black queer community. Harris is also a huge fan of music- she loves house, 90's hip hop and classical music- and is currently learning how to play the guitar.
