Born in Richmond, Virginia, Demitry began her acting career at the age of nine. She participated in numerous school productions, often serving as the MC for talent shows. After her family moved to Stamford, Connecticut, Demitry trained in commercial and film acting at the Tannen's Talent Agency. By the age of eleven, she was actively auditioning in New York City. During her years in Connecticut, Demitry performed multiple leading roles in educational film productions for the Sunburst Creative Group. In addition, she did commercial print work and continued to participate in school theatre. After middle school, Demitry's family returned to Virginia where Demitry completed her high school education and attended college at the University of Virginia (UVA). In addition to her core classes at UVA, Demitry also took classes in drama, film, and fine arts. After graduation, Demitry moved to New York City to continue her training in film acting. While in NYC, Demitry studied with teachers such as Michael Warner, Anna Cianciulli, Glynis Rigsby, and Katie Northlic. She also had the honor to perform at the Player's Club. Demitry performed the leading role of Jaydeen in the short play, Pillow Talk directed by Peter Stone.
