Deon is a proud native New Yorker. Growing up in Harlem and attending Our Children's Foundation allowed him to explore both African dance and Latin dance as well as learning to play percussion instruments during his youth. It was at Our Children's Foundation that he also learned to stay focused and self-determined while learning Goju Ryu, fencing and the game of chess. It wasn't until attending Talent Unlimited HS as a music major that he was also exposed to dance, theater and musical theater. This lead to him deciding to give acting a try later during college where he performed in Pippin at Tribeca theater. He continued acting in the years to follow as part of the group NuAfrikan Theatre.
